On Friday 27 October, Axis Property hosted its inaugural seminar ‘THE COMMERCIAL PROPERTY MARKET – 2018 & BEYOND’. With over 150 attendees and two expert guest speakers, our event was a stellar success.
Held at the Caulfield Bowling Club, our seminar helped commercial property owners and investors better understand the dynamic market of today.
After a warm opening by our Managing Director, Daniel Liberman, we welcomed Scott Keck, Chairman of Charter Keck Cramer and our first guest speaker, to the stand.
Scott discussed the current state of the commercial property market and its growth opportunities. He predicts Victoria’s population to reach 7.7 million by 2050, which will lead to greater demand for inner-city and urban sprawl properties – and more valuable and desirable land.
So remember, current properties with upside or developmental potential are worth considering.
Our second guest speaker, property expert Geoff Kliger of KCL Law, spoke about changes in legislation and common pitfalls for first home buyers. He also discussed the impact of new regulations on foreign investors.
According to Kliger, if you’re a foreign investor, you’ll have to pay additional stamp duty on your property purchases as it’s no longer applied to off-the-plan sales. Plus, if you own a residential property that hasn’t been occupied for six months, you’ll also have to pay a vacant foreign resident tax.
Here at Axis Property, it’s our goal to help you make the most of the commercial property market – to 2018 and beyond.
